The Catachan Predators

This is it, my first post on the blog!  I've almost finished making a 40K representation of the squad in Predator, so I'll show these guys first. I'm also making a small force of Renegade Militia from Cadian, Bretonnian Command and Chaos Marauder minis, with Flagellant heads, all mixed in. Of these I have just made a standard bearer and a vox-caster. Pics to come soon.
I have a ton of photos to add of my special veteran squad that I've named The Catachan Predators, and after taking ages to set up the page, I'll just add a few photos of my models of Blaine and Mac.

On the left is Mac. I created his Heavy Stubber from two lengths of plastic sprue, plasticard and a strip of etched brass for the rivets. The ammo box was from a heavy bolter from a land speeder. You can just about see the aquila which I made from plasticard by drawing out the eagle and carefully cutting it out with a craft knife. I based it on Mac's M60 machine gun, and gave it a bi-pod which has been folded upwards.

Of course, the other guy is Blaine. He just had to have "Old Painless", which although is not a weapon you can give to the squad in the game, he just looks awesome with it. And would give Gunnery Sergeant Harker a run for his money! So I made one from a land speeder assault cannon by shortening the barrel at the motor and using the ammo feed from a space marine heavy bolter and ammo back pack, with a handle grip from the top of a space marine missile launcher. I also sculpted a bulging cheek, as though he's chewing tobacco and gave him a 'tasche and hat. I could have done the hat a bit better, so I may sculpt over it or cut it away and start over.
See below for the backs of the whole squad. Click to see them close up.

I tried to give nearly every guy a secondary lasgun, of which I cut down to represent the MP5 K's in the movie, of which I made folding stocks. I know that models in 40K don't have more than one gun, but I thought a bit of realism and adhering to the weapons used in Predator would look cool. Here's a close up of Blaine :)

I'll be adding more photos soon, so stick around to see them! Get it? Stick around! Yeah?... Watch the movie! :) I hope this opening post will spark off ideas and be of interest you guys. Thanks for stopping by, cheers :)
